Whether you have a question about a treatment or your insurance benefits, they’ll always be ready to answer with a smile so you can feel comfortable and informed at every appointment. Maryann, Office Manager
Maryann has been a part of our dental team for 26 years and counting. She has studied at the PATS School of Aeronautics, Tidewater Community College, and Millennium Real Estate. She also has also attended several Linda Miles courses about the dynamics of communication and has trained in orthodontic treatment and the insurance aspects of CEREC. In addition to her position here, she is a licensed real estate agent. Her favorite part of this job is getting to be flexible and help wherever she is needed.
Originally from the Philippines, Maryann now lives in Virginia Beach. She been married to her husband Bob for 30 years, who is retired from the US Navy. Together, they have three sons. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, shopping, and working out.
An interesting fact about Maryann: She is a workaholic!
Theresa, Patient Coordinator
Theresa has been working in dentistry for almost four years now. She studied dentistry at ECPI University and also attended Central Pennsylvania Business School. She is DANB certified in infectious control and X-rays and is also a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA). Her favorite part of this job is being able to help patients obtain great smiles!
Theresa is from Hazleton, PA. She is part of a military family that always enjoys spending time together. Outside of work, her hobbies include cooking, baking, and running.
An interesting fact about Theresa: She loves Beagles! She would have a houseful of them if her husband would let her.
Carol, Patient Coordinator
Carol’s career in dentistry spans over 25 years! She received her education from Radford University, Tidewater Community College, and the Riverside School of Nursing. She is also certified in X-rays. She enjoys helping patients feel confident about their health.
Originally from Suffolk, Carol and her husband have two Beagles named Rex and Murphy. Her hobbies outside of work include reading, gardening, doing yard work, keeping up with NASCAR, and listening to country music.
An interesting fact about Carol: She has been a volunteer with the Suffolk Peanut Festival for 30+ years.
Girlie, Registered Dental Hygienist
Girlie has been working in dentistry for 20 years so far, having spent the last 10 here at our office. Originally from Bulacan, Philippines, she studied dental hygiene in her home country prior to coming to the USA, then continued her studies at Old Dominion University. Girlie is also certified in CPR. She loves meeting people through her work and considers her position as a hygienist extremely rewarding. Being able to provide oral care and help patients improve their oral health is important to her. She also enjoys building relationships and learning from the people she treats.
Girlie has been married for 20 years and has two daughters named Elaine and Emily. When she has free time, she and her family enjoy watching movies, especially superhero movies. She also is a big fan of shoes and clothes.
An interesting fact about Girlie: While she looks Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese, she is pure Filipino.
Emilia, Registered Dental Hygienist
Emilia is from Norfolk and studied dentistry at Old Dominion University, earning her Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene. She has been working in the dental field on and off since 1986. She enjoys meeting new patients and providing the best care possible when it comes to oral health.
Emilia has three wonderful young adult children – one in dental school, one in college, and one in high school. Her husband is retired from the Navy and now teaches. Outside of the office, she enjoys doing arts and crafts, decorating, traveling, and spending time with her family.
An interesting fact about Emilia: She was a “Navy Brat” growing up and lived in several places like Hawaii. She then ended up marrying a Navy man and ended up doing the same thing every three years!
Rebecca, Registered Dental Hygienist
Rebecca has been part of our team for 19 years and counting, with 24 years of overall experience in the dental world. She received her education from Old Dominion University and is a RDH (Registered Dental Hygienist). She finds it very rewarding to hear from her patients that she has helped them improve their oral health!
Originally from the Philippines, Rebecca has a supportive husband and three lovely children. They have a deep meaning and purpose in her life. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with them, eating, shopping, and traveling.
An interesting fact about Rebecca: She always takes pride in what she does as a dental hygienist.
Paulyn, Registered Dental Hygienist
Paulyn is originally from the Philippines. She has been working in dentistry for 14 years and first joined our team nine years ago. She studied at Old Dominion University and is a Registered Dental Hygienist; she also holds certifications in local anesthesia and basic life support. The best thing about her job is having the privilege of helping patients improve their smiles and feel good about their teeth.
Paulyn has been married to her loving husband for 15 years. Together, they have two wonderful kids. In her free time, she hangs out with her family, travels, watches movies, cooks, and shops.
An interesting fact about Paulyn: She is very passionate about her family. Doing all sorts of things with them like watching movies and cooking makes her heart happy!
Laura, Registered Dental Hygienist
Laura is a relatively new member of our practice, but she’s been working in dentistry for 16 years so far. She earned her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Midlands Technical College and her Master of Science in Dental Hygiene from MCPHS University. She is a RDH and is certified in nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. Her favorite part of this job is being able to help people become healthier and happier with their smiles.
Laura is originally from Beaufort, SC. She and her husband Dale have been married for almost 20 years, and they have a son named Deven and a daughter named Lizzie. She loves anything to do with animals and doing crochet.
An interesting fact about Laura: She originally planned to major in music! She knows how to play the piano and the flute.
Lexy, Registered Dental Hygienist
Lexy studied at Old Dominion University and is certified in CPR and local anesthesia. Her history in the dental field spans nearly 15 years, and she’s proud to be a member of our practice. To her, the best thing about being a dental hygienist is making a measurable difference in an individual’s oral health. She gets to play an important role in preventing oral diseases like cavities and periodontal disease and helping her patients smile with confidence!
Originally from Pasadena, MD, Lexy is married and has three sons. She and her family moved to Virginia Beach in 1998 and have called it home ever since. When she isn’t busy at the work, she enjoys doing outdoor activities like running, biking, skiing, and swimming. She also loves watching movies and reading.
An interesting fact about Lexy: She has a very adventurous spirit and hopes to someday experience skydiving and hot air ballooning.
Ashlyn, Dental Assistant
Ashlyn is originally from Currituck, NC. She attended both Academy of Art University and Everest College, achieving her dental education at the latter. She joined our practice almost four years ago and has seven years of overall experience in dentistry. She loves helping others!
Ashlyn has three daughters and one son. Outside of work, she spends time with her family, goes to the beach, and spends time on their boat.
An interesting fact about Ashlyn: She loves chaos and food.
Tina, Dental Assistant
Tina has been working in dentistry for over a decade now, first joining our team around seven years ago. She achieved her dental assisting education at Everest College and is also trained in CEREC, 3-D implants, OSHA, sleep apnea, implant restoration, oral surgical, and MSDS. Her advanced training in oral surgery and dental implant restorations allows her to assist our dentists in more advanced clinical procedures. She enjoys getting to see different people everyday at the office, making new friends, and helping them achieve their dental goals. It’s always a great feeling to see people leaving happy!
Originally from Virginia Beach, Tina has a husband who works in remodeling and a son who is in the Boy Scouts. Outside of work, her interests include fun remodeling projects, enjoying her saltwater tank, and attending Family Poker Night (she always makes the guacamole).
An interesting fact about Tina: She is kind, social, and loves caring for patients and helping her team in anyway she can.
Nancy, Dental Assistant
Nancy has been a member of our practice for four years and counting. Originally from the Philippines, she now calls Virginia Beach home. Her favorite part of her job is organizing the dental instruments and cleaning and preparing each treatment room before new patients arrive.
Nancy has been married to her husband for 26 years, and they have one adult daughter together. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and going to the mall.
An interesting fact about Nancy: She loves Italian and Mexican food!
Joycie, Dental Assistant
Joycie is from Imus, Philipines. She is currently working on earning her Associates in Health Sciences from Tidewater Community College and plans to attend dental school in the near future. She has been a member of our team for 13 years so far! Her advanced training covers CEREC, 3D implants, CPR, and oral sleep appliances. She loves learning something new everyday through her work and being able to educate patients about oral health as well.
When she isn’t busy at work, Joycie enjoys traveling and going on road trips with her husband to explore what the world has to offer. She is also a fan of car racing and photography.
An interesting fact about Joycie: She is small but terrible (in a good way) and a fast learner.
